Our Volunteer Program is a wonderful opportunity for caring individuals to connect with a meaningful cause. Our dedicated volunteers are an essential part of the library’s day-to-day operations, contributing enthusiasm, unique talents, and a fresh perspective.

We are particularly interested in finding people who can work on Saturdays or 4-7 PM on weekdays.

You can volunteer only for a short time or join our long term team of volunteers.

The main aim of our Volunteer Program is to enhance and expand library services and programs. By actively participating, volunteers help us surpass our goals and objectives, playing a vital role in our mission to connect people to the world of ideas and information.

Whether you’re a teen or an adult, there are diverse opportunities available for you to get involved. Volunteers may engage in short-term projects or provide ongoing service.

Here are some examples of volunteer opportunities:

• Shelving books and magazines
• Organising and straightening shelves
• Assisting with book fair preparations
• Serving as Tech Coaches to help patrons with their devices
• Contributing to annual events like book fairs, training seminars, and youth programs
• Volunteer Activity Leader to deliver a FREE one off or regular activity to our users such as yoga sessions, arts & crafts, reading with children, adult art workshops, tutoring,
  CV writing or anything else that might be of interest and benefit to our community.
• Digital Inclusion Tutor to provide basic computer and social media training to local residents. Regular weekly sessions or a couple of one-off sessions.

• Open to teens and adults
• Background check is required
• Volunteers complement paid library staff and do not replace them
• Each volunteer is assessed to determine the best assignment for their skills and interests
